THESE ARE SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WE ARE MOST COMMONLY ASKED, BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DROP US A LINE IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT.

  • HOW DO I GET TO ALPE D'HUEZ?
By Air: the closest airport is Lyon - from here you can either rent a car (approximately 1hr50min drive) or catch one of the hourly shuttle buses to Grenoble (1hr, Lyon Aeroport) and another bus to Alpe D'Huez (2hr30, Transisere). It is also possible to fly into Geneva, which is a 3hr drive by hire car and also has a bus link to Grenoble.

  • DO YOU SUPPLY PEDALS?
We do ask people to supply their own pedals and shoes, but we do have a few flat pedals with straps we can pop on free of charge and hold a couple of shimano SPD & SPD/SL and Look Keo pedals, but we tend to keep these for people who have forgotten to bring their own.

  • HOW DO I RESERVE A BIKE?
To start the ball rolling please drop us an email or use our rental enquiry form, found on the 'rates and enquiries' page, and let us know what you need (dates, numbers, sizing and heights, which model, delivery or pick up at shop...). From there we'll get straight back to you and advise you if we have bikes available and what size we think will be best for you and we will pencil you into the calendar. To finalise the booking you will need to complete a deposit payment equivalent to 1 days rental per bike through our online shop.

  • DO YOU HAVE CYCLING SHOES FOR HIRE?
Yes we do, 7 euro per day.

  • DO YOU DELIVER BIKES?
Yes we do, email us for a quote. We can deliver up to 16 bikes in one go and to give you an idea, delivery/pick up, to/from Bourg D'Oisans would be 50 euros each way for 1 or 2 bikes, becoming cheaper the more bikes you have delivered. Pick up at the shop is always best as we can get you properly set up.

  • WHAT IS YOUR EASIEST GEARING?!
All of our shimano bikes have a compact (34-50) chainset with an 11-34 cassette. The SRAM bikes are running 46-33 crankset with 10-36 cassette. Perfect for the mountains.

  • DO YOU HAVE MOUNTAIN BIKES?
No sorry, try Sarenne Sports or Rocky Sports, they both have a good range

  • DO YOU HAVE CHILDRENS BIKES?
At the moment the smallest bike we have is an adults XS (47cm) Wilier GTR Team.

  • WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO RIDE THE ALPES?
Tricky question! The best bet to get good weather is mid-June to mid-September. July and August can be very hot and are the busier times as this is when the resort is 'officially open' so there are more shops, restaurants, activities etc. May can be great, as it was in 2012, or it can be dumping it down with snow as it was in 2013. June and September are probably the best if you want quiet roads, cooler weather and are not too fussed about nightlife!
